Randy Pausch, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2006, passed away July 25, 2008. He was 47.
Randy’s diagnosis in 2006 however, did not deter him from delivering a fired up speech on life and living during his farewell presentation in 2007 at Carnegie Mellon where he was a computer science professor. His moving speech caught people’s attention and he was soon invited to speak at many events including a televised appearance on Oprah. Since then thousands of people have viewed his speech on the internet and followed his story.
